Thank you and farewell, Mr Springham!

After two years of inspiring students at Putney, Mr Springham now begins a well-earned break following an incredible 40-year career in teaching.
During his time with us, Mr Springham has taught English to students from Year 7 all the way through to Sixth Form, bringing an enviable level of experience and a genuine passion for his subject to his lessons. Many may be surprised to learn that before embarking on his teaching career, Mr Springham served as a constable in the Metropolitan Police, which may explain why he has always been so calm under pressure!
Mr Springham's impact extended well beyond English lessons. He supervised the successful Young Reporter scheme (see other story, authored by Mr Springham) and became something of a school celebrity through his memorable appearances in the school pantomime and the Diversity Parade.
Among other exciting plans, Mr Springham is now looking forward to re-reading the complete works of Agatha Christie and solving far more interesting mysteries than the whereabouts of missing homework.
Thank you from everyone at Putney, Mr Springham!
