A favourite in the school calendar, World Book Day 2025 did not disappoint!

It was a chance to celebrate the joy of reading and our favourite books and characters, with a focus this year on pre-school children's books. There were some wonderful costumes, many following the request to recycle and repurpose. You may have spotted the Hungry Caterpillar, Winnie the Pooh and his chums, Little Red Riding Hood and The Cat in the Hat.

The English Department, as ever, enjoyed the chance to dress up too, with Burglar Bill and Burglar Betty, Puff the Magic Dragon, Sophie from The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Paddington, the eponymous cat from the The Owl and the Pussy-Cat and the witch, broom and all, from Room on the Broom!

It was great to feel the buzz of nostalgia and affection for much loved pre-school books!
