At the beginning of the autumn term, a new ASIP (A Study in Purple) team inherited the school magazine and quickly got to work. We publish three issues per academic year, each with a different theme, allowing students to explore topics that interest them both within and outside of the curriculum.
For our first issue, the team decided on the theme of ‘revolutionary’ and were amazed at the number of thoughtful submissions we received from students throughout the school. Articles ranged from the role of AI in revolutionising education, to how the opium wars revolutionised China, to revolutions in Major League Baseball. This issue has just been sent via email to students in time for Christmas and has been very well received. The next theme will be released by email to students next term, and the team is extremely excited to see what incredible contributions the student body will produce.
We also altered the layout of the bi-monthly bulletin, which we send to students twice a month to help keep everyone up to date with current news. We have split the bulletin into three sections: Pop Culture, UK and Foreign Politics, and Stem and Innovation, meaning that students can read up on the news which interests them the most. The positive feedback that we have received from students about the new bulletin style has been very encouraging, and you can find our most recent one here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGYIFZZyzM/W8Gk77r0kSFnWq5rqeCTeA/edit?utm_content=DAGYIFZZyzM&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton
