Rossetti radicalism at Tate Britain

Year 13 English students explored an exhibition of the Rossettis at Tate Britain to extend their knowledge of the poet Christina Rossetti. Together with her brother Dante Gabriel, the Rossettis’ artistic approaches to art and love are regarded as revolutionary.

After an introductory talk from a member of the gallery staff, the students were free to enjoy the exhibition. We were pleased to discover that by standing on certain spots in the carpet you could hear a reading of a poem beamed down to you from the ceiling!
