Surprise performances in Poetry Festival 2022


Parents were treated to some passionate performances during the annual Poetry Festival, which took place on Tuesday 8 February.


The evening was a celebration of the finalists and their selected poems, which had been shortlisted by the English Department from entries submitted by all students on any subject and in any style. It is always a real highlight of the events calendar, and this year certainly did not disappoint, with the standard of poetry being incredibly high.


This year our guest judge was the poet Richard Osmond, who expressed great difficulty in coming to a decision on which of the fantastic poems would be crowned the winners. Nevertheless, he eventually announced the following:
