Thirty students studying the Daphne du Maurier classic Rebecca met after school earlier this term to discuss whether it could be classed as a feminist novel.
Presented by students Liz W and Zara G, the seminar explored the caricatures of certain female characters, the vilifying of a certain type of woman through the presentation of the Rebecca character and whether a post-structuralist interpretation could be applied to the sexuality of Mrs Danvers.
