This term, FemBookSoc has explored the works of many seminal authors, such as Virginia Woolf, where we discussed her relevance today and her enduring influence on feminist literature. We also examined the representation of women in classical literature, considering how these portrayals shaped societal expectations and attitudes.
Another highlight was Charlotte’s presentation on ‘Fix the System, Not the Women’ by Laura Bates. This sparked a lively conversation on systemic change, inspired by Bates’s analysis of structural inequalities. FemBookSoc continues to celebrate diverse voices, sharing meaningful debates on literature and discussing its impact on society.
If you are in Years 10 to 13, then join FemBookSoc in SR7 on Mondays in Lunch 1.
